FOCUS GROUPS: HEALTH LAW NOT A TOP PRIORITY FOR INDEPENDENTS— While feelings around the health care law are largely unchanged, independent voters in four battleground states are less concerned about the ACA and more worried about the economy, says a focus group study out later today from the right-leaning group Resurgent Republic. According to Resurgent’s report, there was mixed feelings over “repeal and replacing” the law, as these voters felt it would just take away from the focus on the economy – but these same voters felt passing the law was a distraction from the economy in the first place. Unsurprisingly, tea partiers and Republicans still feel strongly the law should be repealed. Independent voters “did not immediately voice concern” the law will hurt small businesses, but “most concede that the law will hurt the economy, so there remains malleability on this issue.” The full results from the focus group will be up at 9 a.m. today: http://www.resurgentrepublic.com/
